Toronto Raptors NBA Update!

By Appearances, Event Coverage, On Television

Sadness! The Raptors suffered another loss Saturday.
Tonight saw the Toronto Raptors host the Philadelphia 76ers at Air Canada Center. In honor of Remembrance Day falling on tomorrow’s date, the Raps donned camouflage jerseys for Saturday night’s home game. Raptors have been struggling lately, currently sitting at 1-4, and you can add tonights woeful performance to this dismal rank. The game started off relatively close,  Bargnani scored 23 points while DeMar DeRozan added 19, but a horrendous second quarter led to a 93-85 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. Jose Calderon added 14 points and 11 assists as the Raptors (now 1-5) dropped their third straight. The Raptors led by 10 points midway through first quarter, but the Sixers outscored Toronto 40-11 to finish the first half with a 52-33 advantage. The Air Canada Centre crowd booed at half time. The Raptors shot a woeful 2-for-20 from the floor and scored just seven points in a horrendous second quarter — Toronto’s worst scoring output in a quarter since 2003 —  Raptors coach Dwane Casey must definitely be feeling the pressure. Hopefully the Toronto Raptors will pull off a win upcoming Monday night; where Raptors host Utah Jazz at Air Canada Center. I’ll be at the game Monday November 12 to cheer on the Raptors while modeling with a sleek Ford F150 showing off a Ford Fusion Drive Challenge. Find me at the game and say hi!

Let’s go Raptors!

Halloween Haunt at the Great Hall

By Appearances, Event Coverage

Halloween weekend saw us gearing up for a totally scary, gory night at the Great Hall. Professional artists made us into the deadliest looking zombies through the use of fake blood, prosthetics, and paint. Steadfast until the end, we remained in true zombie character throughout the entire night. I was gifted with gnarly side and facial wounds, while Mandy had her throat slit in a gruesome gash. Jag had one of the most interesting costumes with an entire prosthetic worn over her mouth. We were definitely a disgusting lot of zombified gals! Click to enlarge photos. Warning: The results are anything but pretty!
The party at the Great Hall was killer; (ha) with some of us spotting some truly creative costumes. Most notable was Honey Boo Boo Chile, Mr. Roboto (complete with glowing headlight) and ‘grade five photo day’ guy. After we were done with scaring and creeping people out to the fullest, we headed up to the VIP area where we danced the night away to the epic musical stylings of DJ. ILLO and DJ. DR-1. This was truly a memorable, fun-filled Halloween weekend packed with gore and celebrated hard at the Great Hall on Queen West.

People ask me : How can I get in touch with  you? How can I find out what is happening in your world? To this I answer… The best way to interact with me is on Twitter and Instagram @theresalongo, or on Facebook: Here.

On the actual all Hallow’s Eve, I will be making an appearance at the Air Canada Center for the Toronto Raptors Home Opener. Find me at the game and say hi 🙂

Post Fashion Week: WMCFW Wrap Up!

By Appearances, Event Coverage, Fashion, Model Stuff, Runway, Social Media

My stilettos are back on the shelf again after attending World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto October 22-26 at David Pecaut Square. I have an inside look at the show in it’s entirety  while overseeing the Essie booth inside the tent. For those looking for a stylish, fashionable nail makeover, Essie, the official nail sponsor of the week, offered free manicures. Essie’s gorgeous Winter Collection arrives November 1st at major retailers, like Shoppers Drugmart. Check out my gorgeous nails! They definitely evolved throughout the week; what started as a LuxEffects French manicure quickly turned into Flashy Gold #BeyondCozy nails from the Winter Collection with LuxEffects tips, finally adding in a red accent nail by the end of the week. The red is ‘Leading Lady’ again, hot out of the Essie Winter Collection. Look at the gorgeous Essie polishes fresh for Winter…

Another striking highlight of the week was when Stacie Mckenzie breezed into Maybelline for an adorable photo set with us. I never feel quite prepared for coming face-to-face with a top model I’ve admired for so long. She is truly a sweetheart not to mention a total babe! Here are some of my favorite photos from the week…

As for the shows, Joe Fresh was glitzy, contrasted leather and sheer looks prevailed, and Express closed the show. Afterward, Express hosted a stellar studio party where they gave VIPS free clothes! My new all black STUDIO STRETCH WIDE WAISTBAND EDITOR PANT fit like a dream. Thanks Express.
I sat at Travis Taddeo in the studio, utterly wowed by the dominance of leather at this show. Taddeo juxtaposed a Leather Vest on Sheer, a One Shoulder Blue Backless Dresses with V cuts, Metallic accents, White Ruffle Skirts, White Belted Sheer gowns, interesting cuts, patterned grays on whites, and did I mention a lot of leather layer?
WMCFW describes TRAVIS TADDEO as having ‘gained a loyal following among fashion risk-takers by pushing and overcoming the conventional expectations established for Canadian fashion design. Known for his combination of minimal lines and distinctive blends of silk, jersey, leather and fur, Taddeo offers simplicity with edge by creating a bold marriage between luxury and street wear,’. Montreal-based Travis Taddeo brought a definitive edge to his chic, minimalist looks in his spring-summer collection at World MasterCard Fashion Week.

An Inside Look at WMC Fashion Week: Day One!

By Appearances, Event Coverage, Fashion, Model Stuff, Runway, Social Media

Toronto’s World Mastercard Fashion Week kicked off its 27th season yesterday and I am here to bring you a behind-the-scenes view of the action! Yesterday saw fashion houses Holt Renfew and Pink Tartan showcasing their hottest spring trends. Notably, the emphasis has been on metallics, lace, oxblood, and cream colors.  ” From an azure blue draped sleeved satin dress from Yves Saint Laurent to a colour-blocked coat from Celine, a patterned Prada suit and sleek tuxedo from Tom Ford, the looks on display offered an extensive range of apparel and accessories, with outerwear, evening-wear and everything in between. While a large portion of the designer showcase was devoted to international labels, homegrown talents had their time to shine, either featured in standalone looks or teamed with apparel and accessories from foreign brands,” Ottawa Citizen notes. For me, I am in ESSIE Nail heaven while taking full advantage of backstage sights and sounds at Fall Fashion week.

It’s everything blue hue as I take a seat in the beauty lounge at WMCFW. Middle Photo shows me and Stacey Mckenzie! LOVE! Stacey McKenzie is a Canadian fashion model, runway coach and most recently a model coach and judge on the Canadian reality television show Canada’s Next Top Model.

Virgil Knapp’s Got the Knack!

By Appearances, Fashion, Model Stuff, Photoshoots

Not too long ago I had the pleasure of shooting with Toronto based professional photographer Virgil Knapp. We had a blast shooting different looks pulled straight out of the Club Monaco Winter Collection. The photos turned out fabulous. Virgil and I go way back; first meeting at Jason Thorne’s 2nd annual Mini Race (Fun Fact; MXP’s Ryan Guald took the checkers and the cash that day!) At the time, Virgil was rising as one of Canada’s most well known MX/FMX photographers. We kept in touch over the years since the event and I am always stoked to snap some shots with Virgil. Many thanks to Virgil for his endless professionalism, easy going attitude, and his dedication to taking a great shot. There was a cat roaming around set and we managed to get a couple of LOL-tastic shots of the cat halfway up the wall and me looking hilariously shocked. Overall, the lighthearted nature of our shoot translated into a lot of unique expressions, what may become my 2012 Christmas Card, and a bangin’ collection of killer shots!   Contact Virgil to inquire about shooting and rates here.

Henry’s Camera Tradeshow – an International Exposure Camera & Video Show took place over the weekend in Ottawa, Canada.  Canadian model Theresa Longo attended the show  when it stopped at the Toronto International Center in October. Theresa  met with many photographers with varying degrees of expertise in the field at Henry’s International Exposure show. She spent the day posing for thousands of shots.
Theresa Longo says “I am so honored and impressed with the stellar lot of photos coming in every day I’ve decided to highlight specific photographers through posts. Frank McKinny delivered these shots, and I love them! Thank you so much for these Frank,”.
