Sometimes the bigger the risk, the bigger the payoff. There are many celebrities who dabble in the world of gambling and betting. Actress Theresa Longo is a Texas Hold ’em Poker dealer; dealing cash games and tournaments and seeing hundreds of hands play out.
This article talks about 5 other celebrities with a penchant for doubling down…
#5. 50 Cent
The famed rapper has been known to place big bets: once betting 1.6 Million on Floyd Mayweather Jr. to beat Manny Pacquiao. 50 Cent hasn’t always been so lucky; he once paid for a million dollar debt owed to Webbie by rapping on a track for Lil’ Boosie after losing a sports bet on Yuriokis Gamboa who fought against Terrence Crawford and lost.
#4. Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck was once infamously banned from the blackjack tables at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. In an interview with Details magazine he was quoted as saying “I took some time to learn the game and became a decent blackjack player. And once I became decent, the casinos asked me not to play blackjack.” Affleck has been reported as saying he sticks to blackjack only when it comes to waging his dough, but has been spotted playing poker at times too.
There many celebrities who don’t go physically to casinos , but they play online casino games at their home or by their mobile. Celebrities vary in their betting habits; some play cards, others bet on sports, but they all have one thing in common: big bets and huge payoffs.
#3. Leonardo DiCaprio
Known to frequent hostess Molly Bloom’s underground Hollywood Poker Games and Tournaments, Leonardo DiCaprio is no stranger to the card table. It has been said that he allegedly even bet $500,000 with Tobey Maguire that he would score the Academy Award for his role in The Revenant.
#2. Tobey Maguire
Tobey was sued during the bust up of the multi-million dollar gambling ring uncovered in Hollywood. He was also said to have been highly competitive at the poker table in a book written by Hollywood Poker Hostess Molly Bloom. Bloom stated that Maguire could easily “talk other players out of a good hand”… he is just that good!
#1. Floyd Mayweather
Floyd Mayweather, undefeated boxing champ, has stated the most he has won betting is between “1.2 -1.3 Million dollars”. At the same time he says he once lost up to one million dollars on a bet made on Tony Romo. Take one look at Mr. Mayweather’s Instagram account and it is easy to see why he’s placing, and winning a lot of wagers.
Of her poker-dealing status Theresa says “When I was young my poppa taught me how to shuffle like a pro. I can deal up to a hand a minute if the play is fast; and these guys tip good when they pick up a pot – I’ve always loved dealing cards and playing poker,”
