Halloween Haunt at the Great Hall

By Appearances, Event Coverage

Halloween weekend saw us gearing up for a totally scary, gory night at the Great Hall. Professional artists made us into the deadliest looking zombies through the use of fake blood, prosthetics, and paint. Steadfast until the end, we remained in true zombie character throughout the entire night. I was gifted with gnarly side and facial wounds, while Mandy had her throat slit in a gruesome gash. Jag had one of the most interesting costumes with an entire prosthetic worn over her mouth. We were definitely a disgusting lot of zombified gals! Click to enlarge photos. Warning: The results are anything but pretty!
The party at the Great Hall was killer; (ha) with some of us spotting some truly creative costumes. Most notable was Honey Boo Boo Chile, Mr. Roboto (complete with glowing headlight) and ‘grade five photo day’ guy. After we were done with scaring and creeping people out to the fullest, we headed up to the VIP area where we danced the night away to the epic musical stylings of DJ. ILLO and DJ. DR-1. This was truly a memorable, fun-filled Halloween weekend packed with gore and celebrated hard at the Great Hall on Queen West.

People ask me : How can I get in touch with  you? How can I find out what is happening in your world? To this I answer… The best way to interact with me is on Twitter and Instagram @theresalongo, or on Facebook: Here.

Post Fashion Week: WMCFW Wrap Up!

By Appearances, Event Coverage, Fashion, Model Stuff, Runway, Social Media

My stilettos are back on the shelf again after attending World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto October 22-26 at David Pecaut Square. I have an inside look at the show in it’s entirety  while overseeing the Essie booth inside the tent. For those looking for a stylish, fashionable nail makeover, Essie, the official nail sponsor of the week, offered free manicures. Essie’s gorgeous Winter Collection arrives November 1st at major retailers, like Shoppers Drugmart. Check out my gorgeous nails! They definitely evolved throughout the week; what started as a LuxEffects French manicure quickly turned into Flashy Gold #BeyondCozy nails from the Winter Collection with LuxEffects tips, finally adding in a red accent nail by the end of the week. The red is ‘Leading Lady’ again, hot out of the Essie Winter Collection. Look at the gorgeous Essie polishes fresh for Winter…

Another striking highlight of the week was when Stacie Mckenzie breezed into Maybelline for an adorable photo set with us. I never feel quite prepared for coming face-to-face with a top model I’ve admired for so long. She is truly a sweetheart not to mention a total babe! Here are some of my favorite photos from the week…

As for the shows, Joe Fresh was glitzy, contrasted leather and sheer looks prevailed, and Express closed the show. Afterward, Express hosted a stellar studio party where they gave VIPS free clothes! My new all black STUDIO STRETCH WIDE WAISTBAND EDITOR PANT fit like a dream. Thanks Express.
I sat at Travis Taddeo in the studio, utterly wowed by the dominance of leather at this show. Taddeo juxtaposed a Leather Vest on Sheer, a One Shoulder Blue Backless Dresses with V cuts, Metallic accents, White Ruffle Skirts, White Belted Sheer gowns, interesting cuts, patterned grays on whites, and did I mention a lot of leather layer?
WMCFW describes TRAVIS TADDEO as having ‘gained a loyal following among fashion risk-takers by pushing and overcoming the conventional expectations established for Canadian fashion design. Known for his combination of minimal lines and distinctive blends of silk, jersey, leather and fur, Taddeo offers simplicity with edge by creating a bold marriage between luxury and street wear,’. Montreal-based Travis Taddeo brought a definitive edge to his chic, minimalist looks in his spring-summer collection at World MasterCard Fashion Week.

An Inside Look at WMC Fashion Week: Day One!

By Appearances, Event Coverage, Fashion, Model Stuff, Runway, Social Media

Toronto’s World Mastercard Fashion Week kicked off its 27th season yesterday and I am here to bring you a behind-the-scenes view of the action! Yesterday saw fashion houses Holt Renfew and Pink Tartan showcasing their hottest spring trends. Notably, the emphasis has been on metallics, lace, oxblood, and cream colors.  ” From an azure blue draped sleeved satin dress from Yves Saint Laurent to a colour-blocked coat from Celine, a patterned Prada suit and sleek tuxedo from Tom Ford, the looks on display offered an extensive range of apparel and accessories, with outerwear, evening-wear and everything in between. While a large portion of the designer showcase was devoted to international labels, homegrown talents had their time to shine, either featured in standalone looks or teamed with apparel and accessories from foreign brands,” Ottawa Citizen notes. For me, I am in ESSIE Nail heaven while taking full advantage of backstage sights and sounds at Fall Fashion week.

Here is a collection of shots showcasing the many highlights of day one at World MasterCard Fashion Week! Click to Enlarge Photos

It’s everything blue hue as I take a seat in the beauty lounge at WMCFW. Middle Photo shows me and Stacey Mckenzie! LOVE! Stacey McKenzie is a Canadian fashion model, runway coach and most recently a model coach and judge on the Canadian reality television show Canada’s Next Top Model.

Monster Energy SuperMotoCross Montreal

By Appearances, Event Coverage, Model Stuff, On Television, Social Media, Travel, Video

September 29th 2012 saw a bevy of beautiful Monster Ladies and pro riders from around the globe entertain thousands of Motocross Fans at Montreal Olympic Stadium. I flashed my pearly whites on the podium as riders crossed the finish line.

From MontrealMotocross.com: ” After winning earlier his MX1 class for the second year in-a-row, Californian Matt Goerke was ready for an encore in the Monster Energy Grand Finale at the Monster Energy Supermotocross, presented by Parts Canada/Thor, on Saturday, September 29. On a shorter track, the match between the top MX2 and MX1 riders proved to be an interesting outing, but eventually, the more powerful 450 cc MX1 bikes swept the podium. Again, as he did in his earlier race, Goerke led all 13 laps to finish eight seconds ahead New Yorker Bobby Kiniry. Third place went to Teddy Maier of Iowa, his first podium finish of the night. Fourth place went to MX2 rider Cole Thompson, who had won the MX2 class race earlier in the night, Thompson of Bridgen, Ontario finished ahead of MX1 rider Tyler Medaglia of Ottawa and Dusty Klatt of British-Colombia. MX2 rider Kaven Benoît took seventh ahead of Jeremy Medaglia.”

From Racer X: ” While most of the world was focused on the international affair of the Monster Energy Motocross of Nations, a different international event also took place with the annual  Montreal Supercross in Canada. No surprise who won the race, though, as American Matt Goerke, riding for Team Leading Edge Kawasaki, continued his roll up North, taking both the MX1 final and the Superfinal, which combined 450s and 250s together. Goerke also cleaned up in the motocross nationals up there. ”

Denton Daley, with Daley taking the win in a dramatic finish over the ropes. I will add more photos from the night soon so check back often.

Last week we wrapped up the Ontario leg of Ford Canada’s Drive to Discover Tour. I had the pleasure of working along side amazng ladies all week long.
Not to mention many laughs together.

So what’s the deal about this tour? Ford brings excitement to you with the Drive to Discover Tour. Currently Ford is asking you to Go Further in 9 cities across Canada to give you the chance to get hands-on with the new cars.

…and then you add our team! Handpicked & High Energy. Smart & super talented!
We allow you to star in your own adventure video and generally have the MOST fun imaginable.

Ford’s Drive to Discover Tour allows you to experience features like Active Park Assist while behind the wheel of a Focus, Focus Electric, Fiesta and all-new Escape.

My specialty is knowing the 2013 Ford Fusion inside out!
Pretty swaggy to add ‘Ford Certified’ to my resume 😉

The above photo basically sums up all of the love on this tour. The Gucci is because I went shopping.
We met a lot of sweet Ford Fans. A lot of people were interested in Ford’s newly redesigned all electric Ford Focus.
Imagine, no more gas fill ups,  no more oil changes?
cool.

Personally I feel this should be the norm.
#FACT: they were all the rage wayyyyy back in the day.

A lot of people are rightfully impressed with the newly redesigned Ford models. New models have an out-of-this world redesign, a bangin’ Sony sound system, tonnes of available features and a sleek new interior.
Positive feedback from a LOT of curious passerby.

Truly memorable moments include our hotel stays, our hotel finds, sunshine every day,  & late night, ladies-nights!

I had so much fun with ‘the Julies’ in Walton. I totes practiced my french and the ladies totally brushed up on their English. We talked to a lot of sweet Moto fans. A bit of wind made the ’30 second board’ kinda tricky but overall, the weather was perfect! Gorgeous sunshine all day. We took a lot of photos. Loved staying at the Arden Park hotel in Stratford Ontario. Stratford is beautiful.
