A Daily Dose of Inspiration

By | Business Tips, Competitions, Inspiration, Social Media, Uncategorized | No Comments

1. Always be yourself. If someone else doesn’t like it, who cares baby!

2. Always enjoy life and never take anything personally. Ever. Even if it appears someone insults you repeat to yourself: “it is not so” and smile. Things are not what they seem.

3.  Envision your goal. Don’t stop until you get it. KNOW you create your entire world.

4. Always operate from logic and reason, never emotion.

5.  Realize your thoughts. Make the most of your time. Use notes and plan.

6.  You are always doing exactly what you should be. Always. Remember this often. Take a moment daily to look around yourself and your surroundings, instead of getting lost in never ending thought.

7. Ask yourself often “Who am I?”

8. Maintain a very lighthearted approach to life. Things aren’t always what they seem. This is why is is crucial to your success that you NEVER worry.

9. Encouraging, aiding, and LOVING the success of others also facilitates your own success. Genuinely lift others up when you have the opportunity.

10.  You can do it! You can do anything. Know this. Truly.

11. Take care of yourself! Stretch, drink water and get a massage.

Here is a fun lesson in how we perceive reality taken from Buddhist teachings: When you look into a mirror are you looking at your face? The answer is no. You are looking at a mirror. The mirror is simply a reflection, creating an illusion. A mirror is not accurate, nor is it tangibly you. Do not let what you see in the world fool you. Things are not what they seem. This is why, moment by moment, before we consider our automatic response to situations it is important to pause first; to look quietly – in attempt to better understand what it  is we are truly seeing. Lastly, every opportunity in your life, every event – is a chance for you to express Who You Truly Are. This is why it is important to be thankful in all situations. Even in the most terrible situations: You are given the chance and opportunity to choose your reaction. Keep this in your mind, and next time you find yourself in a long line up, or running late, choose your reaction for the better – and thank the energy force that allows you to express yourself freely in these situations. Positivity is contagious, and when you dish it out a lot, the Universe has no choice but to keep sending you a lot more of it. The only way you can know this is to practice, and watch how far you soar.

Luminato & L’Oreal: Partners in Creativity

Luminato 6 Kicked off with the Yves St Laurent Opening Night party. I had the honor of hosting the interactive ipad activation where your ipad drawing was projected onto the wall of the party for all to see. All night long we were creating amazing designs on the wall; storytelling, inspiring, – Some people were shy to draw so I drew a lot. I was drawing doodles at request, advertising YSL L’homme libre  & Opium samples on hand for party guests. I also doodled to tell partygoers about  ‘party perks’ like the cosmetic station for a complimentary make-up session. The energy at Opening night was incred. Great food, great smells, great people!

We looked great.  🙂

Luminato delivered an awesome creative Line up. See Here.  Music, plays, screenings, shows, visuals: a lot to see and do at Luminato 6. Luminato, Toronto’s Festival of Arts and Creativity, was born out of the cultural and creative energy of the city of Toronto. A bit of background: On June 1, 2007, the first Luminato event was launched with Pulse Front: Relational Architecture 12, a light installation commissioned from Mexican-Canadian artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer. Festival supporters gathered along the harbourfront to witness the city skyline illuminated by the heart beats of the audience. Over four years in the making, Luminato was ready to be unveiled to Toronto and the world.

All day long I was stationed at L’Oreal Paris on festival grounds in David Pecaut Square. Pecaut Square is a large concrete-and granite-clad plaza located in front of Metro Hall in TorontoCanada.

Luminato has become one of the preeminent arts festivals in North America, having commissioned over 50 new works of art, and featured 6,500 artists from 35+ countries. Here are some of my photos from the event. Here are some of my favorite memories. The concert photo is from when Rufus Wainwright took the stage.

L’Oreal made hundreds of ladies and gentlemen happy by offering an exclusive give-away for anyone who ‘Likes’ L’Oreal Paris Canada on Facebook. Follow their exclusive coverage of the Luminato Festival, including daily beauty tips by experts Eddie Malter and Eric Del Monaco. All day long ladies were treated to complimentary beauty sessions from L’Oreal Paris’ lead Canadian stylists & makeup artists. Ladies were also treated to a gift card to online shopping empire Well.ca, where they could pick from the Summer’s hottest trends in Lipstick & Nail polish. This is every lady’s dream!!

I love our dream team. #DREAMTEAM. Here is Helena Chillaxing 🙂

We are a fun bunch!!

Workout Motivation & Inspiration

One day at the gym, after running around 20-ish kilometers on the treadmill, I hopped off to walk around the track and a man walked right up to me.  “How far did you run?” He asked. “23 kilometers,” I told him.  “I used to be able to do that,” he replied.

He then pointed to his knee and told me he had injured his knee years ago, and after surgery, he wasn’t able to run anymore, let alone run long distances. He told me that if he was able to, he would still run.

This got me thinking. There are many people in the world who are physically unable to work out. There are also many of those in the world who are perfectly capably able to work out, yet who choose not to. I will always remember my conversation with this ex-runner. Now I make it a point to schedule my workouts so that I literally have no excuse to miss them.

Every week, make it a point to write your workouts into your planner and in your smartphone. Ask Siri to make a reminder for you. There really is no excuse for working out. No one ever regrets a vigorous workout.

How motivating!

The Dalai Lama was asked “what surprises you the most” ?

He said, “Man, because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then he dies having never really lived.”

We can all attest to allowing our own mind to wander. You can gain control over your thinking through meditation & exercise. As you begin to train your mind to focus on what you want it to, you will begin to see incredible results.

The next time you find yourself analyzing the next persons shoes, car, or clothes; catch your thoughts, watch them pass, & then focus on your breath. Always back to the breath. Every breath is a miracle.

Mackmaine said it best:  How impossible it is, ”to tell that man in the wheelchair  that you are not blessed….and I dare him to tell that man in the casket that he’s not blessed. Everyday you wake up is a blessing…Every breath you take is a blessing.”
