The Fall Home Show held at Enercare Centre was a huge hit! Vendors, demonstrations, presentations and etiquette classes were all on display at this exciting trade show bringing together hundreds of companies in the name of home ownership. The main stage line-up included Frankie Flowers (arguably Canada’s most popular and trusted gardening expert and weatherman), Tiffany Pratt, Jane Lockhart, Michael Holmes Jr., Nathalia Hara, Thiago Hara, and many more! Toronto Fall Home Show is Toronto’s original event for design, renovation, and lifestyle. Visitors have the opportunity to see and experience the latest home and interior design trends and innovations, listen to celebrity designers, watch creative demonstrations and source and buy new products. Toronto Fall Home Show is held by Marketplace Events that is the largest organizer of consumer remodeling, home décor and gardening shows in North America. Vinfast EV was a main sponsor!
Mayor Olivia Chow arrived to open the home show at the City of Toronto’s booth in the main aisle as a DJ Spun hit tunes all weekend long. Show goers were treated to a grand entrance with a walk through patio section, rest stop and luxurious bedding section by Sleep Country Canada where attendees could see the best in comfortable and high tech sleep options. Home security was a big feature at the show with window film being popular.

Homeowner Tips from TPS
Toronto Police did a presentation about home safety. Constable Arjinder Gill, Crime Prevention Coordinator Community Partnerships and Engagement Unit said to keep visibility good around your property, invest in door reinforcements and window reinforcements. He also said to know your neighbors so you can help each other. One of the biggest deterrents to thieves is making it difficult or time consuming to intrude. Invest in property lights, camera and security on display lets thieves know it will be a tough time getting to your stuff. Vehicle locks, driveway bollards, and anti theft devices are good deterrents for auto theft.
Constable Gill also talked about personal safety, he said plan ahead so you aren’t confused or lost. Distraction increases the risk of being a victim of crime. He said plan ahead, know where you are going and what you are doing. Be aware.
Feature Presentations at Fall Home Show 2025
We learned about what you can bring as a gift to a dinner party! The top gifts were, olive oil set, a lovely cookbook or a nice bottle of wine. Then we learned some tips about conversation topics: things that were OK to talk about included how people know the host, current events or exciting personal news or updates. Things that are generally NOT ok to talk about are politics, religion and asking personal questions about health matters if you don’t know the host well. Another thing we learned is that when you go to a dinner party best avoid talking about the weather. If you are talking about the weather there is literally nothing else left to talk about, but if the weather is particularly bad then the host may feel guilty for bringing you out in a storm/rain/snow. So, avoid talking about the weather at your next dinner party.
We also got to hear from Mike Holmes Jr.! What a great guy! He mentioned priding himself on working hard on his own without the help of his Dad’s Famous name. He didn’t want to be known for his famous last name or dad, so he would often fib whenever anyone asked him if they were related “no, no relation” he would say, hoping to quell any inkling of special treatment. Eventually people really did make the connection to his very famous dad, Mike Holmes, but he sincerely worked hard to perfect his trades and skills!
A Costa Rica Connection
It was exciting to find vendors from Costa Rica at the show. I always say we are truly living life in Costa Rica. Thriving, not just surviving! Our build is located close to this gated community which is in Tambor, next to the Tambor airstrip. We also had our honeymoon here twice! Our property in Delicias de Cobano is coming along quite nicely! I highly recommend property ownership in Costa Rica. Low property taxes, easy market entry and exceptional prices. Not to mention all the beauty that Costa Rica has to offer! Costa Rica is free and beautiful without Government interference in every day life.
