Recently I saw Beyonce’s Mrs. Carter Show World Tour!
She is absolutely hot right now! Straight after releasing her fifth solo effort — the R&B/pop diva set a first week digital sales record this week: selling more than a million units of her album in 5 days after release. She also broke records for debuting 5 number 1 records.
Beyonce took the stage a half hour late for her second Toronto show. I am so impressed that she bothered to visit Canada when it is so dang cold here. Beyonce took the stage and there were deafening screams from the sold out audience at Air Canada Center. I can honestly say that out of all the performances I have ever seen, her fans are the loudest.
Her show is high energy & theatrical, while incorporating eye catching visuals as she danced as much as her non performing back up dancers.
Fireworks and several costume changes prove Beyonce is queen of the stage. I couldn’t help but notice that Beyonce is all business. At times she warmed up to the audience: she invited the audience to engage in chants with her say ‘Hey Mrs. Carter’ as well as getting down to greet front row fans! She definitely did not divulge any candid talk (Unlike superstar PINK) – about her family life or her new baby.
At times it seems her running theme of female empowerment i.e./ backed by an all female band – is juxtaposed by overtly sexual visuals, dance routines and costumes (ie/ her sparkly nipple adorned number). Not that there is anything wrong with any of that! The audience was predominantly female along with maybe a total of 10 reluctant men who were being dragged along. I couldn’t help but think that later this night ALL of these ladies are surely going home to practice their very best ‘Beyonce’ after witnessing the Mrs. Carter World Tour.
I especially love how Beyonce shows love to her fellow performers, spotlighting LesTwins and her pianist who had a beautiful solo.
One of my favorite moments from the show: Bey adorned a gorgeous purple sequin gown and climbing on top of the grand piano to sing 1+1.
My second favorite moment from the show was backstage in the concourse when I was singing & dancing my own version of ‘Single Ladies’ and one of LesTwins stopped me and said “ooh you look like you’re fun to party with! Nice dance moves!!” 😀 😀 #BESTMOMENTEVER
