The 2020 Volkswagen Passat
“Means Business, Drives Fun”.
When I learned I’d review the 2020 Volkswagen Passat my first thought was that it may be a manually driven, diesel gas vehicle – however the 2020 Volkswagen Passat was not that! This model features 6-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic®, (Tiptronic transmission is an automatic gearbox with the ability to change gears manually. It allows greater control when changing gears, ideal for going up a hill or for better control when overtaking on the highway), Electronic stability control (ESC), TSI® 2.0-liter Inline Four-Cylinder Turbocharged Engine w/Torque Converter, 174 horsepower… surprisingly quick and easy to drive.
The maximum torque on this baby is 207 lbs/ft.
What is the “2.0 TSI” engine? An updated version of the benchmark EA888 four-cylinder, turbocharged and direct-injection engine uses an innovative modification to the conventional four-stroke cycle to offer an improved combination of power, efficiency and responsiveness. It is this TSI engine which enables exceptional fuel economy.
This leads me to my next powerful revelation:
The 2020 Volkswagen Passat is by far, the best car on gas I have ever had the pleasure of driving. I spent two days driving in “stop and go” traffic around the city, on major highways and logged around 4 hours of time behind the wheel.
Care to guess how much the gas bill was?
$7.00
Yes, I only spent $7.00 in regular unleaded fuel, per approximately 100 KM.
The 2020 Volkswagen Passat is already an outstanding win, but there’s more!
INTERIOR
Remarkably spacious and simple, the interior of the 2020 VW Passat is clean and enjoyable.
Other cool features of the 2020 Volkswagen Passat: 6.33″ touchscreen infotainment system, with an incredibly sharp backup camera.
Ultra comfy seating with heated front seats.
The Stereo Sound was decent, coming from 6 speakers throughout.
Automatic headlights, App-Connect smartphone integration (Android Auto, Apple CarPlay®, MirrorLink®), KESSY – keyless access with push-start button. The push start was located near the gear shifter, not beside the steering wheel. It had “power-everything” mirrors, steering, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Verdict: The 2020 Volkswagen Passat…
