Women in Business: Trent U to Toronto’s Skyline, Theresa Longo and Stephanie Soltermann Scale New Heights
Picture this: A powerhouse woman touches down at Billy Bishop Airport, fresh from flying in to wrap TIFF’s glittering finale. Toronto International Film Festival‘s red carpets still echo with applause as she grabs her luggage for a quick meet of minds in Canada’s financial core. Theresa Longo travels straight to the Harbourfront to meet Stephanie Soltermann— at their shared stomping ground where ambition meets the waterfront. A sunset vibe overlooking Lake Ontario, Theresa Longo and Stephanie Soltermann clink glasses of soda water to futures brighter than the lights of the CN Tower! The vibe is balmy and casual as we sit down to interview.
Two Trent University graduates toast an exciting future in Canada’s beating financial heart. They both have infectious smiles and they chat about the view of the city. Theresa’s focus is entertainment and brand worlds, and Stephanie is eyeing civic leadership to reshape and uplift the city of Toronto. Both are longtime waterfront Toronto residents.
Small Town Roots, Big City Heights
As alumni of Trent’s rigorous business program in Peterborough, Ontario, Longo and Soltermann embody a rare blend of sharp intellect, entrepreneurial fire and effortless style. It was by chance they met working for the top Bridal Houses in the Kawarthas in a rigorous industry of bridal runway modeling.
Theresa elaborates on their beginnings:
“It was a strict gig! Believe it or not, it took a lot of skill. The dresses are heavier than many realize and there is a ton of fabric to push around. To avoid stepping on the gowns with our heels when we walk or step up, we used to ‘kick the dress from the inside’. Now try all that and look graceful :)”
Synergy: Lights, Camera, Partnerships
And look graceful they always do! Both hold degrees from Trent University. Both are conquering new heights in Ontario’s capital city and beyond. Both ladies are now coincidentally rooted in Toronto’s Harbourfront community—where sleek condos rub shoulders with financial titans—these ladies continue to build empires!
